Iteration__ (b. 1991) is a digital artist who blends color, light and texture into images that draw on the bold colors and nostalgic graphics of 1980s and 1990s design. Based in Texas, they have shaped a practice around observing overlooked, quiet moments and turning them into something extraordinary, incorporating AI tools into that process.
Several series run through the practice.,,,Mallwave renders nostalgic walkthroughs of shopping malls from a synthetic past, produced with Midjourney and edited in After Effects and DaVinci Resolve.Cosmic Intentions is a limited-edition series drawing on vaporwave and 1980s science-fiction poster art to explore manifestation and visualization.Vapor Workstations is a collaboration with the artist Illumixis.The Displaced and Voiceless is a series of 1-of-1 works minted on Manifold as ERC-721 tokens. Iteration__ began it after watching field and woodland animals leave a field near their home that was cleared for construction. The series focuses on common species whose very abundance is mistaken for a lack of value, and half of every primary sale is donated to wildlife conservation charities in Texas.
Iteration__'s work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions across the United States, Europe and Asia, including New York, Tokyo, Marfa, Miami, Lisbon, Craiova and Hong Kong,through venues such as Superchief Gallery, Art Bees Gallery and the touring “Protocol Decay Glitch Show”.,They have been the featured artist at Bitcoin Pizza Day in Houston, Texas, each year from 2024 to 2026, serving as a speaker there in 2026,and were named a Notable Vaporwave Artist by Makersplace in July 2023.
